It's here!

SPORTING GOODS

It's time for Wally, Manny, and Papi to put away those short sleeves and break out the wool caps.

I was lucky enough to see the Sox play live down in Florida this spring, but despite the 80 degreees and sunshine, give me the real thing any day. I'll admit, I actually left a tied game heading into the bottom of the 9th so that I could "beat the traffic." That's because spring training is vacation. But opening day? That should be a national holiday.

Opening Day was actually yesterday when my beloved Mets beat up the World Champion Cardinals 6-1 in a preview of their upcoming season-long dominance. I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiment though.

sorry, that was "opening night," and I also enjoyed every minute of it.

But opening day is today!

We have a new rule at our house: there will be no talking when Dice-K is on the television. Every realationship needs its limits.

Speaking of baseball, the former owner of the Texas Rangers somehow missed throwing out the first pitch at the Washington Nationals' opener yesterday.

D'ya think it had anything to do with the hostile reception he would've no doubt received from the crowd?
