Here's another example where, if one waits long enough, a study will come out to justify any kind of behavior:
The first national estimate of its kind bolsters the argument that you can be hefty but still healthy, or at least healthier than has been believed.
I don't care: Those tubbies still look like slobs.

Honestly, I think the study is likely solid but the article is simply poorly written. (Not surprising since it is from the AP) From what I can gather, if you have fat around your waist (i.e. those tubbies) you are in more danger of heart disease. If you carry weight in other areas in which you would fail the BMI test and be considered overweight (the NBA player example)you have less of a danger.

Basically, I think this study is saying that body type/fat % is more important that the BMI Index number, which as recently been used as an indicator of health.

Don't worry Monocle, those tubbies are still likely to have heart disease.
