Manifesto
Because of
this I had to go through the equivalent of airport security (stand in line, wait for the x-ray machine to be clear, run bag through scanner) every time I decided to bring so much as a backpack to my office. Along the same lines, my office building was digitally erased from satellite view on google maps in 2004. Surprisingly, I am no longer searched for coming to work and the office re-appeared on the map recently. Both happened just months after Obama was elected. Now I know why. Not that I didn't suspect as much.

Tom Ridge is scum.
Marc Ambinder follows up on this story.
And here's Glenn Greenwald's reaction to Ambinder:

Greenwald's money passage: [T]he paramount unchangeable Beltway Truth is that those who distrust government claims are unSerious Fringe Leftist Losers. Even when they turn out to be right, they're still that. And no matter how many times journalists like Ambinder are proven wrong in "giv[ing] the government the benefit of some doubt, even having learned lessons about giving the government that benefit," they still continue to do it and believe it is the right and responsible thing to do.
