Laws are for little people
MANIFESTO
I'm following the Bob Novak story with a certain amount of interest if for no other reason than that I think he's pond scum.If that makes me a lesser person in people's eyes, so be it.
Daily musings about Entertainment, Sports, Culinary Excellence & Politics (not necessarily in that order).

As much as I completely disagree with Bob Novak's politics, I have to defend him somewhat. As a cousin to my wife (I'm not up on my cousin conversion chart, but I think he's a first cousin three times removed), he attended my wedding. My best man even got a covert dig in about him during his best man speech. I've also had dinner with him on a couple of occasions.
He is quite pleasant to spend an evening with, and as a person, he is not nearly as radical as the stands he takes in his professional life. He and my wife (liberal) have some interesting discussions on politics, and he cares about family a great deal.
With that said, I can't see him being as callous as the some of this makes him sound. The TPM article seems so skewed as to be ridiculous. He hit the unfortunate person during Washington DC morning traffic. He wasn’t speeding. The car sped away until a BIKE MESSENGER finally caught him. Either Corvette is putting out some really bad cars, DC bike messengers are the fittest in the world, or his car was stopped in traffic at the next intersection. The latter of these three is what really happened.
Now should the argument be made that he shouldn’t be driving anymore at his age? Sure, I’ll buy that as plausible. But I don’t think we should make this into a Dick Cheney shoots his friend in the face moment here.
I’ll now go light myself on fire for having had to defend Bob Novak.
