Graves

sporting goods

It's not often that a serviceable, formerly dominant reliever becomes available in the middle of the season. The question I pose to Mets fans is, is it worthwhile to pay this guy's contract in order to shore up the bullpen a bit?

I admit, I don't understand the waiver / release rules of the MLB well enough to understand the economics of the situation. But rumor has it the Mets, Cubs, and Red Sox are interested. So, Mets fans, what do you think?

If he isn't injured, which is a serious question because his velocity is down, then absolutely. The Mets could use the help. Of course the Mets had a formerly dominant closer, Scott Strickland, doing well in AAA before he lost it and got shelled. If Graves is willing to get right in the minors, it is worth the money for the rest of the year.

Not like it matters as Willie has no idea who is good. Too much Manny Aybar and Mike DeJean, not enough Aaron Heilman and Heath Bell. WILLIEEEEEEEE!!!!!
